Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool

Scope included site development, shell and interior construction for the 10,700-square-foot school and the 7,650-square-foot outdoor playground.
Site development, building construction, interior buildout and playground construction totaled nearly $2.7 million, delivered under budget and faster than scheduled.
Building features foster children’s innate curiosity and potential with a distinctive castle-like exterior opening to interior spaces filled with natural light, order and beauty.
Building materials placed child safety and security foremost for children aged six weeks to age six.
Child-size exploration elements include BEX-built treehouses and other unique spaces, both inside and outside the school.
Completed in 2019.

First St. Charles United Methodist Church (UMC) Learning Center

This $200,000 conversion of a full-size gymnasium created an adaptable multipurpose space that is fully sprinklered, making it accessible for use by children and large groups.
The space was brightened substantially by changing existing lighting to LED lamps and by expertly adding windows through the concrete block and brick exterior.
A new double-door portal expertly crafted from teak wood accents the entry.
New acoustical tiles provided effective sound attenuation.
BEX won the project based on its exemplary performance on a $2.2 million facility renovation in 2018.
Begun in September 2022 and completed in January 2023.
